David Phillips to undergo changes in the coming months.

The University of New South Wales Rugby Club today welcomed the announcement that the NSW Waratahs will be making the grounds at David Phillips their new home.

The CEO of the NSW Rugby Union Andrew Hore and the Vice Chancellor of the UNSW, Ian Jacobs made the announcement today at the official welcome at the field.

The NSW Waratahs will train on the east-west field at aufblasbar DP while the administration and offices for the NSW Rugby Union will be housed in temporary buildings located on the northern tennis courts. More permanent buildings will replace the offices in the next few years.

The President of the UNSW Rugby Club, John Morrison says having the Waratah’s at DP will be a great boost for rugby in the area and will create terrific opportunities for the university club.

“DP is now the true home of rugby in NSW and having the ‘Tahs training there will be a great opportunity for us to promote our club and attract new players,” he said

“It will give us an opportunity to raise the clubs profile and promote rugby to students here and overseas and attract players from the local community.

“I think our former players will be proud to see DP as once again a true rugby ground and it provides our Club the chance to focus on improving our own facilities and make DP a quality rugby ground once again.”

The UNSW Rugby Club will train and play on DP North and may have access to the gym that will be built at the ground.

The NSW Waratah’s began their pre season training at the ground this week with the administration moving into their offices next week.

UNSW Rugby first grade captain and club secretary Dave Davis says it’s an exciting time to be a part of UNSW Rugby Club.

“This link up will mean that we will have unparalleled opportunities and the improved facilities will only add momentum to a club already on the rise,” Davis said.

UNSW Rugby Club currently play in the second division of the NSW Suburban competition fielding four grade teams, an U21’s Colts team and a women’s seven a side team and welcome’s all players to join us for the 2018 season.
